Hey guys, I don't know what I did to my comp but my hard drive crashed in the middle of loading XP, I'm starting to get this msg when I enter windows now

"Failed to load SocketXCtl.ocx from socketx.ocx. Your version of socketx.ocx maybe outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application".

I don'tk now what this application is.... From my task bar I can see the icon of the "msn butterfly". Could it be windows live? Should I resinstall it?

    Thanks for your time.

Interstingly enough, I also started having this problem last week. This usually has to do with malware, when an antivirus has deleted the file in question, but the registry is still trying to load it. Open regedit.exe, look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, and if you have a value called "DSS", delete it. Restart your computer, and see if the message still appears.

damn straight you're right! I just searched with Spybot and found "Munga_Bunga" as spyware with a lot of its library files hidden inside my Windows folder. Thank you so much ^^ rep points for you =)
