Hi, I'm looking for a piece of software to control the speed (and on/off) of the fan on my 5672wlmi.

I've tried both NHC and SpeedFan, but it seems like they do not support the laptop, must be the new chipset.

Does anybody know of any other programs i could try, or any other way to control when the fan comes one?

Sometimes the 5672 will act really weird and the fan will be contantly on while im on AC. I don't mind this at all because it pegs the tempurature at 43 degrees celcius, which is way lower than the 52 that it normally comes on at. But i just can't seem to recreate the situation consistently..i'm not even sure why it happend in the first place!

It is very hard to find such a software. NHC will support ACPI fan in the next release, so maybe we all will be happy.

The issue that you are mentioning happened to me once on my old Asus M6N (that could be easily fan controlled by NHC) and I have solved it with the BIOS update. In fact some newer updates for that notebook brought that issue with it. I think they call it the "feature"! So I actually went back to my old BIOS.

    Hope it helps,

I really hope an update comes out for SpeedFan. NHC is a really nice prog, GUI and everything, but it does use .NET. and last time i checked it didnt support the Core Duo.

Oh well, thats what happens for new stuff.. :(
