Hi there, I have USB speakers & USB headphones connected to my laptop at one time, and often I change between each default audio device, and am trying to find a program which sits in the task bar and easily switches the defualt audio device with one click.

    Does anything like this exist?

I am not sure if there is any software which would do this with one click. But it is pretty straightforward when done through the Playback Devices Menu.

Andy - I didn't ask about the normal procedure, as obviously If I am used to changing the device, then it is straight forward - it is more to see if such a piece of software existed, long shot I know, but...........

Well that was an anti Climax! as it just doesn't work at all on my machine!

HOWEVER, on browsing google, I found a program which does work, called "System Tray Audio Device Switcher (STADS)" http://www.mp3vcr.com/stads/ which I just tested and works perfectly!

Cheers Hiker - a lot of the time, its the simple applications which are the most useful, and I was getting pissed off with having to go via the control panel each time I needed to change the default audio device.

Weird, it works pretty well on my notebook, both XP and Vista.
Maybe a program conflict, well at least you found what you were looking for. :)

Andy, it installed fine, and when I changed the audio device using the quick switch, or settings, it said the device had changed, but hadn't actually changed, even when I restarted my media software, tried it a few times, but no joy.

Anyhow, at the start of this thread both of us never thought this type of software existed, now we know different!
