Is there decent software to manage multiple web based email accounts? I've ended up with many for multiple reasons, and it gets annoying to have to log in to each one individually. It would be nice to go to one location and quickly check each one.

You could use software such as Microsofts Outlook, Mozzila Firebird, Outlook express, Windows Live Mail.

    I'm also interested in this.
Say if I added a gmail account to any of the above mentioned programs, would they display emails like they are in the gmail inbox e.g. groups all replies with their original message, creating a single conversation?

Yes.. If you have outlook, you can add live mail, gmail or almost every other e-mail account to a single user account. The mails do not appear in the same inbox, but separate inbox of their own. E.g. live mail has its own inbox and so does gmail and other e-mails.

Thunderbird is great for this if the webmail supports it. I can get my Gmail account into Thunderbird, but Yahoo and Excite won't allow you to do this on a free account.

Not all web based mail accounts support POP, well unless you pay for an "upgrade" for service.

You could just have all your webmail boxes forward their messages to one box. Then have your one mailbox sort them by the the receipiant's address

Uh, and when you have a several email address through several different providers... it gets annoying. And because many will ask, one for personal (friends/family), one for throw away address, one for web sign-ups(like forums, etc), two for personal business, two for school, etc.

So what's your understanding of this software that would "manage web mails"? How would it work in your mind?

    cheers ...

Nevermind. I'm tired of all the cynicism and attitude whenever I post on this specific forum (Windows OS and Software). Please close this thread.

You are pulling posters' legs with your thread!

Posters responded to your "general" query, and none seemed to satisfy you. When someone (me) asked you to expand your query, in order to get more understanding of what you really look for, it is being called "cynicism and attitude"

But I would agree with you on one point, if this is a worthless thread, we can ask for it to be " deleted"!

    cheers ...

Sorry, had a bad attitude attack at the moment.

I guess I was hoping that there was a way besides POP accounts, but it appears that's the only way.

    So...how does this work?

Say I have 2 gmail accounts, 1 hotmail account, 1 fastmail account and I peg them all into MS Outlook 2007.

Whn I open Outlook, it checks these accounts simultaneously or serially? Not that it really matters, but I was just curious.

    Thanks

Technically.. all of your e-mails are checked "serially" since network traffic is sent in little packets sent in "serial" patterns one after another.

Im currently using ASSP to filter out the companys spam. Emails that fail the test modes gets sent to that email address for analysis. I have go through about 1500 emails a day to make sure there are no legitimate emails falling in.

Its just like Postmaster but for spam
