I am thinking of getting solidworks student edition for my classes (about $100).
What is the best place to buy it and how "well" would it run on my setup in my sig. I have a lab here at school but because of my classes it is hard for me to get time in there and most of the computers are rather old (couple years old desktops and cost about $1,000 new).
I am still new to it so the projects wont be that hard but by the end of the semester we have to make a battlebot and that has a good amount of parts. I dont see myself going over the 1,000 parts but might come close (teacher said that the really good projects can have about 900 parts and I am not much of an over achiever).
The best deal I have found is this one

Is there another cheaper way of getting it?

Sorry for the early bump but is there any other info that I should know before I order?
Is my computer (in sig) supported? -
I don't see why not. Your specs are within the system requirements of this software.
cheers ..,. -
But I could not find the graphics card under the compatibility chart but I think that was only for desktop.

I've been running it just fine on an Intel X4500, so you should be fine as well. Not sure where to get it cheaper, its a mighty expensive piece of software and I'd say $100 is a bargain.

I am going to order it tonight or tomorrow morning.
