    Hi guy's

I am trying to forward a port for uTorrent 1.6, I have tried everything on their help site and no luck. My setup is; DSL, Starbridge PYXIS 210, and a Linksys WRT54G. I gave my PC a static IP, I forwarded the port a shown in their help site on both the Starbridge and the Linksys but I still can not establish a connection. When I run the test port it gives me an error saying that the port is not open.
Can anyone of you guy's help me with this problem because I really will like this program to work? :(

    Thanks.

I was having the same problem. Did you disable your firewalls? That's what happened to me. I had two for some reason. If you did disable your firewalls, then try www.portforward.com

That's what I did next to get my port to forward for uTorrent. Hope that helps. Quick question, this is my first time using a laptop so I'm wondering if there's a way to turn off the monitor but leave the computer running. I'm trying to download a torrent overnight to see if I've fixed my problem.

Yea all you have to do is go into control panel, then open the power settings. After that there should be a place somewhere in there where you can choose what you want to happen when you close the screen on your laptop. I believe what you want is the 'do nothing' option.

If you're on DSL, it might just be your provider. That usually happens to me and when I call the help desk, it's usually because they're working on the server. The only other thing I can think of is if you're using a wireless connection. Maybe you're getting interference?

Which port are you exactly trying to forward? Maybe that port is already being used by another app or is blocked by your ISP.

Do you have a software firewall installed such as ZoneAlarm or Sygate? Make sure to allow uTorrnet privileges on that program if you do. Windows built-in firewall could also be causing some problems.

And make sure you're enabling both UDP and TCP ports... I'm not sure which one uTorrent uses but it's not a bad idea to have them both open.

uTorrent only uses TCP ports. So when you're configuring your static ip, leave your TCP port open. I was told that uTorrent only forwards on port 17606, so that's what I forwarded at my static ip. And so far, everything's working great.
