Hello, I need some help, and I need it quick, I making a video, I am using 2 different parts from a video clip I made with my digital camera, they are both cut sperate, and both on different tracks, but for some odd reason, they continue to share the same affects, and I don't know what to do. Please help.

In Vegas, they shouldn't be on separate tracks, what have you done for effects, what effects have you put on the tracks?

If you can give some pictures of what you've done it might help.

Well, I had them both on the same track, but it didn't work, neither does using 2 different video tracks. I am using the filmgrain & black and white effects, I can't get a picture till later, because I got school in a little bit, then I got school stuff to work on for a few hours, then going out with the boys for the night.

I use vegas, but I'm not sure if that is something in preferences. I use effects minimally.

If you have the edits already, WMM has filmgrain and black/white, import them for a temporary solution.

Yea, WMM does a lot of what I want, but Vegas does that and more.

I just want the effects to go to one sections of the movie, not the entire damn thing, so who knows.

Ohh, I think I get what you were saying about WMM, can't though, its a .mov file.

    Okay, so

    1. Check you have the latest version of Vegas (6.0d for the 6 version)
    2. For each clip you click the box on the bottom right of the clip (called Event FX)
    3. Try two effects that produce very different results so you can be sure (I found film grain to be hardly noticable so difficult to see if it took effect or not).

I got 6b, but that shouldn't make that much of a difference I wouldn't say.
I am looking at buying 7 sometime later maybe.

As for the event's FX, sure I already looked into, and theres nothing there, but it still loads the effects.

Also, how can I do a slowmotion effect on the video?

I would upgrade (maybe a bug in 6b is that it has this issue) but if there is no effects in either is it still doing both effects on both of the videos?

Have you checked the track FX (as well as each clips effects)?

For slowmotion, insert a velocity envelope (right click the clip) and then drag it down to some percentage.
