I have the most recent version of Firefox. This problem started when I installed a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headset. I can still hear sound on youtube videos in IE, and I can listen to my music in iTunes. I just can't hear anything while using Firefox. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tim

If you have Vista or 7, check the volume mixer(controls sounds for individial programs) and make sure firefox's sound isn't set to mute or low(you will need to have firefox open and playing a sound like on a youtube page).
It could also be a problem with Flash, so you might have to reinstall it(look on adobe site for a flash player removal tool). -
Well the sound randomly started working again. I checked the mixer levels like you had mentioned. When my sound wasn't working, Firefox didn't appear in the volume mixer box. But now today sound is working again and Firefox appears in the volume mixer box. Who knows what was wrong. I did the blue screen of death...maybe that had something to do with it. -shrugs-

Anyway, once I restarted, FF it worked again.
