wasn't really sure where to post this but...

is there a way to turn off/lower the volume of the sounds made from doing computer type things(like the clicking when browsing the web, noise from advertisement). the reason i ask is because when running windows media player with headphones and browsing the internet, there are sounds like clicking and that stupid little smiley face ad. the sounds are louder than the music, are annoying, and it would be nice not to have to deal with them....not sure if it's possible though.

Control Panel > "Sounds and Audio Devices" > "Sounds" tab.

Under "Program Events", scroll down to "Windows Explorer > Start Navigation" and change or disable the sound. This affects the "clicking" noise in both Explorer and IE.

you can also select a "no sounds" sound scheme. That's what I use and always have used. No annoying windows sounds.
