Hey, guys. For about a week now, I've noticed that some of my avi files don't have any sound. Are there any additional codecs I need to get other than Divx and Xvid? As far as I know, these are just for video. Correct? If that's the case, then why wouldn't Vista play the sound? Thanks in advance.

it maybe because you haven't install the correct sound codec. try downloading VideoLAN from www.videolan.org

I agree with wobble987 completely, VLC is simply the best way to go. If you're dead set on using WMP though try one of the KLite Codec Packs.

Do you know what codec you need? I would assume either ac3 or ogg. Both can be found pretty easily. Ac3 filter or most DVD player apps will install an ac3 codec. Not as sure about ogg, as I don't use it.
