    Hello everyone.
I have HP Pavilion dv6500. When I bought it I had Vista Home Edition (which I obviously disliked) So I installed XP - now when I install Realtek HD audio drivers I hear o sound at all. Also, when I try to reinstall the sound driver I get error message "operation failed" - this is happening during uninstall process (Installation goes smooth, but still no sound after reboot).

When I had assus I just had to install UAA, ATK0100 and modem draivers - then sound drivers install ok and sound appears to be there. But now I have the same problem with HP and I am stuck.
If anyone knows anything, that might help, please respond.

    Thanks in advance!

Use CCleaner to remove leftover installation file and try installing them again.

I say try going straight through HP to get your sound drivers again...
