    Hi all,
I know this topic has shown up everywhere but I would like to officially post all fixes on this thread for HMDI audio out to your plasma or external TV. Reason being is because there are still people who can't find a fix for this.

This worked for me on windows 7 while playing SF4 at home. I'm posting this at work so I'm kind of typing blind instructions, i will edit once I get back home. Anyway:

So the hdmi cable is connected to your plasma and there is no audio. That's because your default device is probably set to stereo, or something else non HDMI,.... we have to add another default which is HDMI.

*Go to device manager (See Edit!!) -> Sound. You should see stereo , digital audio S/PDIF, Digital audio HDMI. If you test the audio you will here it through the TV but if you're playing youtube or something you won't hear it. Click HDMI and then click "Set to deafult". It will then add HDMI to the default.

That should fix it. It worked for me, I know it's vague but I will edit if people don't understand or when I get home.

Edit: Instead of going to device manager, go to the control panel. Make sure to play some audio in the background so you can see if the sound waves are coming through stereo or HDMI

@gazzacbr - What GPU and sound drivers are you using? I would like to try them out.

I get sound automatically on the television. The problem I have run in to is that when I disconnect the HDMI cable I lose sound on the laptop until I reboot.

    Anyone come across this?
