Alright so I have purchased the GT 60 MSI, I know its not a problem with the speakers because this is my 2nd GT60 ( both brand new ) they both have the same problem. The sound crackles in headset and in speakers however the good news is it has 0 crackle on high performance power plan.. the minute I put it down to low performance and play a song, I get the crackle sounds.. then I put it back to high performance power plan I get 0 crackle.

I use the computer mainly on high performance anyway, so it doesn't bother me.. but I am curious. From what I have read online ( I don't know a bunch about computer tech ) it sounds like a background program or a software driver or something is using a lot of frequency and my CPU stays around 20% so this isn't CPU struggle.. I just don't know what it is. I know its not faulty hardware but I don't know whats going on.. at the end of the day I game on high performance anyway.. but it still bugs me I can't use power saver low performance power plan without it doing this.

Edit: Processor is i7-4810MQ CPU 2.8GH to 3.8 turb

    8GB system ram memory

    GPU 870M 3gb Vram

If I close down every everything besides the browser I actually CAN play music on " low performance " without the crackle.. but this just sort of builds more questions for me than answers... If my CPU is only staying 1% - 20% even when I'm gaming, browsers open, the works.. it never goes passed 40%.. then whats going on? if its not hardware and its not CPU struggle.. do I have some background process eating away a large frequency that's non CPU related?

I found this i'm posting below online.. does anyone think this could be it?

Depending on your system, there could be a high latency affecting performance and thereby causing
    serious audio problems.
    dpc latency

    PART 1
    1. What is DPC latency?
“If any kernel-mode device driver in your Windows system is implemented improperly and causes excessive latencies of Deferred Procedure Calls (DPCs) then probably drop-outs will occur when you use real-time audio or video streaming applications” – http://www.thesycon.de/eng/latency_check.shtml
Basically if you are watching a movie and your computer has high DPC latencies, your audio/video will pause or skip for a couple of seconds. The same will happen with games.
The worst part is that those audio/video dropouts will occur regardless if you have a single core P4 2.4 GHz processor or a quad core Core i7. Bad coding of the drivers is usually the fault for high and very high DPC latencies.
    2. How do I check my DPC latency?
First you have to download and run the DPC latency checker from here. Note that DPC latency varies depending on the applications you are running (foreground and background). And it’s mostly influenced by audio data streams, video data streams and network activity (wireless, ethernet, bluetooth) . But that’s not all, for example mouse movement also causes DPC latency levels to rise. When you use a P2P application and you watch a HD 5.1 movie, this can lead to a very bad movie experience, audio/video desynchronizations occurring several times during playtime.

At the moment the only DPC latency checker I found that looks promising says it doesn't work for windows 8.1.. so I am left to my own devices.. which isn't much.

Thats all the updates I wanted to add.. I really think this is it though

Have you tried installing the latest sound card drivers?
