First the links:
SpeedSwitchXP: http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/
RM Clock: http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml
Both softwares support Pentium M processors, both claim they will improve battery life...........but what is the differences between these 2 softwares and which one provides the best results? Any thoughts?
Many thanks

I tried speedswitch and it didnt improve my battery, it made it longer so I would just let it go.

I think there is a general agreement that RMClock and Centrino Hardware Control are more effective. It is clear even from the principles of their work. Based on others comments, it seems also that CHC can be about 10% more effective than RMClock.
The links to the software are easily googled out.
A special undervolting thread on www.notebookforums.com starts from clear instructions about RMClock usage (thought beware that they are based on the previous version of rmclock). -
I mean this thread:

rm clock is quite robust and allows for undervolting if you're looking to improve battery life
