Checking at "MY COMPUTER" I noticed that the C: is reduced quite a bit
Here is a screenshot of it:

Anyone has any idea where it did all go to >>

You're missing about 8 gigs on the SSD (hidden restore partition?), the HDD is correct.
-
Well the HDD is ok I am not worried about it but the SSD seems to be quite
reduced out of 64GB.I don't have any additional stuff installed.I just bought it
for my wife a couple of days ago. -

The advertised 64GB is 64000 MB
1MB is 1000KB
But when shown on windows it's Actually using the correct way to count HDD space (1024Mb is 1Gb). The missing HDD space is due to manfactuers being lazy. -
Yeah, but even then that would leave you with ~58-59 GBs. So there's still the missing 8 or 9 gigs.
-
I can check my SSD when I arrive home tomorrow but yes, 8-9 GB missing is too much.

I ran the W7 upgrade advisor from Microsoft site >
1.My hard drive meets the minimum requirements of 16GB free space for 32-bit W7
2.But that I need at least 20GB free space for 64-bit W7.
What can I do do get extra free space and run 64-bit? -
Unless you're dual booting, Windows 7 is going to overwrite your Vista installation so you're going to get a ton of space back.
-
No I am not dual booting>
However I am planning to get 64-bit and I got find out a way to get extra GB
to get it installed. -
It's going to install just fine. Like I said, 7 will replace Vista, so all the space that Vista is taking up will be freed.
-
Ok thanks for the info.>
-
well this happened to me I noticed that system restore points were the ones taking all the space up...... u can check on Ccleaner how many old restore points their is..... u can also download a program that tells u exactly what files are using most of the space in the hd/ssd like Tune up utilities here: http://download.cnet.com/TuneUp-Utilities-2009/3000-18512_4-10206416.html

go to your computer management console, and then disk management. it should look something like this:
check out if there is free space left on the ssd, or something (or just upload a screenshot of the whole console with all the disks so we can examine). -

I have 119GB total of my OCZ Vertez 120GB SSD available...
-
Looks like you have a 9 GB recovery partition. If you have recovery discs, you can safely reformat the drive into one partition when you install Windows 7. If not, first follow your manufacturer's instructions to create a disc set.

There is another problem I will have to deal with.My TZ is a MADE IN JAPAN
model and when trying to register for the W7 upgrade on SONY'S site the model is not recognized on their system
Is it because of M>I>J ? I guess so. -
That could be a problem. You will have to call Sony support to find out for sure. Good luck.
