I recently use an XP Home OEM cd to reformat my harddrive because I got sick of all the extra trial software that compaq put on the recovery partition. Everything went fine until I tried to install the video driver for my Radeon xpress 200m. When I ran the installation I got an error message saying that the driver was not found then another message saying to install the Standard VGA driver. So I used the Windows new hardware wizard to switch to the VGA driver but it found no drivers. I then tried to find someware to download it but was unsuccesful so I am stuck with no video adapter driver until I can find a standard VGA driver because the ATI driver won't install without it. Can anyone give me a link to download one or tell how I can get one? Thanks

I am guessing you have a HP or a Compaq?? Just a wild guess...
Visit your manufacturer's support page, and you can download the applicable graphics card driver.
alternatively, you can download modded drivers from driverheaven.net. -
yes, I have a compaq v2000z. I visited the support page but the driver for the radeon xpress 200m wasn't thier. but I went to driverheaven.net and downloaded the Omega driver wich worked fine. Thanks for the tip I never would have thought to look for alternative drivers.
