    VISTA USERS ONLY
    You guys know when you click start orb, there's those 2 icons for Sleep and Lock. I changed my Sleep to Shut Down, but I can't find how to change Lock To Restart. Does anyone know?

    Control Panel > Power Options > Change when the computer sleeps > Change Advanced Power Settings > Power Buttons and lid > Change the default action of the Start Menu Power Button

    I changed many of those settings on my Vista as well. You can always click on the right arrow to bring up the list of options, including restart.

    I'm not sure you can do this in vista. Although it sounds like some registry editing may do the trick.

    I use on-keyboard button for sleep,

    Windows button + L for locking.


    GUI is user friendly but takes too many clicks

    Yeah, I know of this already. I also know how to create a Restart shortcut I can put on my desktop, but I was just wondering if I could chage Lock to Restart without touching the registry...apparently you can't.

    Alt+F4 from the Desktop, then hit R and your first option is Restart.

    i know how to restart with commands and whatnot
    i just wanted to change that LOCK BUTTON TO A RESTART ONE.
