I have just done a new installation of Vista Ultimate on a drive and there is a 15 sec delay before bt/qs and object dock starts.
Can someone tell me how to boot log so i can see what is responsible for this delay?
Thanx

It's not EXACTLY the same thing as our old friend boolog, but if you want that go to START/CONTROL PANEL/ADMIN TOOLS/SYSTEM CONFIGURATION then click the boot tab. You will see a "boot log" check box. Oh while you are there, click on help and read the bit about "OS Boot Information" that looks like it might be helpful here as well.

did you find a solution to the delay?
im not sure if it is the same case as mine, but after entering password into windows, windows will go idle for some time until the icons on my desktop blinks (refreshes?) and only after that can i do normal operation like connecting to the internet. (i connect to the internet manually everytime i start my laptop).
at first i thought this idle time was caused my nod32, as during this idle time, my nod32's splash screen will stay on screen until the idle passes. now i had nod32's spash screen off and the problem is still there.
any help?
thanks! -
install vm player (creates a fake ethernet) and the delay will go away

I had this with xp couldnt figure it out had to do with one of the drivers, so I just reinstalled and it cleared everything out. Also make sure you update first before you install your drivers.

I think your problem may lie in the TMM which allows it to check for multiple onitors on startup. Go into my Tweaks below and there is one that addresses this.
I don't know what caused the problem so I uninstalled everything after the delay (BT/QS and object dock.) and reinstalled them. Same same...
Then for some dumb reason I had the bright idea to turn off bt/wifi on the side of my M1330 and reboot...fast as heck and problem solved...except no wifi/bt.
So I turned it back on and voile...for some reason my start up is fast as ever again with no delay.
Thanx for the help all... -
this has actually been discussed in great detail in other forums...the reason for the delay is that the computer is looking for hardline (ethernet) active internet connections upon start up....
since most of use wireless, the delay is more noticeable
you will notice that if you start up your computer with an ethernet cable plugged in with an active connection, the delay dissapears.
As another user posted, installing vm player will 'fake out' the computer into thinking that there is an ethernet connection plugged in and the delay will no longer exist
I hope this resolves concerns -
The issue is resolved as i said and I have never had the issue before. I normally test my start time with my SSDs from push of the button to the wifi confirmation (little ball over screens) and have averaged around 24 seconds up until this installation. For some reason turning wifi/bt off and back on and then rebooting got rid of the issue.
Thanx alot for the help in any case! -

I have several that were given to me as samples for testing. My original, the Sandisk, came with my system and was the starter of the group. The only 64Gb available is the Samsung in system sales right now. there should be alot more infor on sales in my review of the Mtron Pro and memoright here next week. I have other reviews below that might assist as well. I have a Sandisk, Samsung(64Gb), Mtron Mobi and also have Mtron Pro, Memoright and Ridata in the mail to me presently for review. I hope to get out distributor info in the next review.

Flamenko, i have already disabled TMM, i have read your top vista tweak post =P
so the only solution i have is either plug in my cable or install VM player right?
By VM player, it refers to VMware player? -
Ive never used VMplayer...sorry.
