I don't know if this is the place to ask for help but I am getting desparate. Vista did an update last night and today all of my Start menu programs are gone. All of the programs I had pinned to the start menu have broken links.

When I right click the start button and open all users the Programs folder is empty.

What could have happened and how do I get it them back?

I uninstalled the updates and that did not help, I restored to the restore point just before the updates, that did not help.

    Using Vista Home Premium 32

Any help will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

EDIT: I was just looking at the accounts on this machine and besides my account there is the guest account and a 'ASP.NET Machine account' ...what the heck is that? Should I remove it?

I think there is little you can do with respect to the programme links... try a system restore - but I fear you'll have to "redo" everything...

At least I did when I messed up.

But wait for other replies first.
