Hey guys. Just after a little help with iTunes. I have been using this as my primary media player since I got my iPod Mini, and I minimise it to the system tray when playing music rather than have the full window or on the taskbar. However, pet peeve is that when I start up iTunes it always starts with the window view and I have to minimise it manually.

So, I was wondering if there was an option I missed, or change I can make, so that iTunes automatically starts minimised to the system tray when I start the program.

    Cheers,
    Stu

i think there is...right click on an iTunes icon on your desktop or in the start menu...and go to properties...then under the "shortcut" tab...find where it says the "run" option...either "maximized" or "normal" will be selected...just select minimize and when u start iTunes it will be minimized automatically...but to make it minimize to the system tray thing...u have to go to the settings in iTunes and select the option that lets u minimize to the system tray when the actual iTunes is minimized...hope that helps :D :D

Thanks for your reply. I already knew and had the option checked where it just minimises to the system tray ;). Everything is perfect except that the program starts in the window. I just tried changing the run type to minimised as you suggested.... and that does not do the job either, still starts with the window rather than minimised to system tray unfortunately.

    Any other ideas/ suggestions?

    How about this...

Edit: Actually this may need some work. Hold on...

    Edit:

    Okay try this:

Open up notepad and make a file named iTunes.bat or something (doesn't matter what it's called as long as it's .bat)

in the file add these lines:

    @echo off
    start itunes.exe "C:\Program Files\iTunes\" /min/b
    exit

Save it wherever you want. Create a shortcut to it and place it in the Startup folder.

This is assuming that your itunes.exe file is in C:\Program Files\itunes\

    If it isn't, change accordingly.

^^^ Hrm, still no dice, that still opens the main window and have to minimise it manually.

Looked into PodPlayer... and it cuts a lot of features for that RAM saving, since I have 2GB that is not a concern, I'd rather the full featured iTunes. So still trying for that solution hopefully.
