Since yesterday, every time I try to open Steam it starts loading then it completely locks up my PC in place. Nothing works and I have to do a hard reset.

I have tried uninstalling it completely along with reg keys, reinstalling, using CCleaner to "fix" registry, remove random stuff.... I don't know why this is happening, I was playing before just fine.

I am using Windows 7 Home premium 64 bits. Even searching the Event Viewer doesn't really say anything regarding steam or the like.

Everything else works fine though. All other games etc. Also, I AM able to open steam and connect only when running in Safe Mode+ Networking, so this is just some sort of software issue...

    Any help is appreciated!

hmmm i had an issue once to where i couldnt update or launch any game before and i fixed it by erasing a file and letting steam redownload it so maybe give that a shot?

anyway what you do is find a file called ClientRegistry.blob and rename it to something like ClientRegistrybackup.blob then try launching steam again.

have you tried running steam as admin? i cant launch it unless i do that under my win7 x64 ultimate install
