When I click on a video link, usually it would prompt me to either open, save, or cancel. Now whenever I click on one, it opens windows media player and I can't save the video. How do I go back to prompting?

It does this in both IE and FF.

In WMP click on the tools menu>options>filetypes try deselecting the file type of the file that WMP is setup to be the default player. Or, just unselect them all if you wish.

Start menu > Set program access and defaults > Custom. And chose the proram you wish to use to open your file types.

I changed the program but it just opens the video in that program. I want to get the prompt to either open, save, or cancel the video.

In Firefox, go to Tools>Options>Applications> Change the video file opening app to whatever mode you like.

With IE you should right click the video, and click "save target as" to save the video.
