Is there any way to stop a USB mouse from waking a notebook from sleep save from unplugging the reciever?

See specs for the notebook in question.

There is a way. If you want to see all of the devices that can wake your notebook open up a command prompt window and type powercfg -devicequery wake_armed. If your mouse is listed as a device that can wake the computer then you can disable it.

All you have to do is go into device manager --> select Mice and other pointing devices and then the particular mouse. Right click and select properties then look for a power management tab and uncheck the "allow this device to wake computer". That will stop the mouse from waking the computer.

    Awesomeness. You guys rule!

    Here's what I did:
    > Go to device manager
    > Mice and other pointing devices (double click on USB mouse in question)
    > Power management tab
    > uncheck the box "allow this device to wake computer"

    Done!
