I have two video files .avi

They together form a whole movie. How can I make them ONE simple file instead of two separate?

Use a video editing program to stitch the two files together. You can do this even in Windows Movie Maker, but I think you need to convert the AVI files into a compatible format.

Simply drag the first file onto the timeline, and then drag the second file onto the timeline, immediately after the first. They should sort of stick together. Then render the movie to one file. Ta-dah! You've got the whole movie in one file.

There are apps that were made specifically to join .avi files and such.

Check out Xilisoft, they pretty much make anything.

But as freefisheater stated, any video editing program should work.

There are some programs that will combine the two files without having to reconvert the entire movie. Most do NOT do that though. That means they take a LOT longer and usually introduce the typical conversion artifacts.

There is one from Sloveig Multimedia that does this withour reconverting the file.

I use WinAvi, which is pretty good at converting and merging videos.

I use STOIK Video Converter 2 to combine and convert video files. My main purpose for using it is to convert DivX files to WMV so I can use my 360 to watch them, but I have also used it to join two files while converting them, and it worked great for that. Just as a side note, this program may be one of those that only joins while converting, in which case it could take as much as 8 hours to join two files.
