    Hi

I have an HP Pavilion dv6137tx notebook with Windows XP Media Center installed.

A few days ago, I was listening to music using iTunes and I paused it for a while. On resuming it, the music started playing with a lot of noise and also at an increased playback rate (at a higher speed). Restarting iTunes did not help. I had to reboot the computer to restore normal playing in iTunes.

Yesterday, while watching a Quicktime video, the audio playback stopped all of a sudden. I had to pause the video and resume it for the audio to play normally, but it played fine only for a few seconds after which the problem resurfaced. I reinstalled iTunes and Quicktime but that has not helped much...the phenomenon is rather chaotic.

In addition, I started noticing some strange noise creeping into all Youtube videos I was playing, especially things like grids and squares randomly popping up at the corners and sometimes right in the center of video itself. I am still facing this problem while viewing any youtube video.

But Windows Media Player and VLC are working fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers
    vivek
