    Hi guys,

I need some help here! I installed a software that had trouble in windows 7 so I used it in compatibility mode. For those who used this, you know that the whole display gets kind of screwed up in this mode (at least that is what it is on my computer).

Anyway, after I used the program, I closed it and the "scrwed up" display is still there. I uninstalled the program and even did a system restore but I cannot get back to the normal display! Right now I am forced to use the computer in safe mode. Is there anywhere, that somehow put the whole computer in compayibility mode that I should disable?

Please any help would be welcome!

Can you describe this "screwed up" display?

I'm assuming the computer otherwise boots as normal, minus the "screwed up" display.

can you change the resolution back to normal, and select the aero glass skin again? (right click on desktop for personalize, there you can chose glass again, another option allows you to set the screen resolution.. i'm not on an english system, so i'm sorry i don't know the exact wording)

    Thanks for the reply.

I changed the resolution back to normal but I still get the "screwed up" display>

Ok , I will try to explain. It starts at login, where the whole screen is like a negative of a picture (you know when the cameras were not digital).
After login, the background image has the same characteristics and when I am in a window where I have to select something, I cannot see the little square where to click or the check mark when you select. I am going to get a screen shot.

Here are some screenshots. The secong one shows when the date and time window is open.

you changed the resolution. can you change the bitdepth in there, too? it looks like some reaaaally low bitdepth, but not like some wrong windows mode on (i thought it could maybe the ease-of-access-high-contrast-mode or something).

you should run on 32bits. this looks like, dunno.. 4bits? :)

on the dialog where you changed the resolution, on the right, choose advanced, then somewhere you have an "all modes" button. there chose your resolution (1440x900) but with 32bit behind. yours is most likely 8 bits now?

and i'm shocked that this isn't directly accessible anymore in the resolution dialog?! is this the way to go in win7?
