I have (at last !!!) succesfully installed Windows 7 on my MPC X3000.
If it is still actual for someone of you guys I can give complete instructions about OS installation and drivers setup.
It was a common problem for all MPC X3xxx users for several years.
Now I have a working solution and all necessary drivers.

The configuration you are talking about is the INITIAL configuration of this laptops.
Nowadays almost all people who still use them have already upgraded them.
For example, mine has 2 Gb of RAM, Intel M 765 2.1 Ghz CPU, 320 Gb HDD.
This notebook has a great 1400x1050 screen and exeptional security options.
It's initial price was around $3000.
Plus, it has many connection options as it has all the legacy ports.
The videocard (ATI Radeon Mobile 9700) is not so slow as you might think, it can handle Aero with ease,
also older games such as Half-Life 2, HL2 Ep. 1, Ep. 2, Doom 3 are working as a charm.
The similar model (MPC X3100) has ATI Radeon Mobile X700 with 256 Mb ( OWN) RAM.
All kinds of office applications are running fast.
    No lags, no stutterings.
Both Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 SP1 are running fast too.
So it definitely deserves to be running Windows 7 :)
