    Sudden Low Memory Issues

    Was playing some Metro Last Light and I suddenly had windows forced alt-tabbing me into a low memory error message. Never had this happen before. I played through this entire game on this PC months back without issue. No other game had this crop up but this evening every game I try will force an alt tab.

    I have 8GB or RAM and have allowed the system to allocate what it wants in terms of virtual memory. Been running Windows 8.1 for a while and not had any issues until today. Any suggestions?

    Found the solution - I downgraded my Intel HD 4000 driver and it was fixed. Thank you Steam forums for that suggestion.

    sorry, i know the issue has been resolved, but i assume you were playing the game on your discrete gpu not on the integrated chip?

    that was my thought. i've run into and been surprised by the low memory warning after unwittingly gaming on integrated graphics before too.
