Superfetch is going crazy at startup, "fecthing" 8000 files  And it results in waiting waiting and waiting, before I can use the computer

If you ask me how I know the exact number, i'm using NOD32, and it scans every file thats being loaded...(AMON function)

Can I turn off Superfetch ? And would it be a good or bad idea ?

superfetch uses background HD reads that shouldn't affect your performance. you don't have to wait for it to finish before you start using your computer.
