I had lost hope that i ll never get SP1 via WU.

Finally it came in the Windows update just now.

Wanna know if this is the final one, i mean there were some bugs discovered rite & then taken OFF the servers?

Should i finally go ahead with final SP1?

BEFORE doing it, backup up everything.
There have been known cases of BSOD after updating to SP1 and a full system reinstal was needed.
Other than that, SP1 will re-invent Vista for you :)

Perhaps language packs are now complete; WU Ultimate couldn't use SP1 if you had languages installed.

I saw 0% performance gain or loss after SP1. It was a very neutral update, except my notebook started to give me black screen on wake up every once in a while...

I bet you anything that not even 0.1% of people have done it before dl the SP3, I'm nto suggesting not to do it, it just I don't think is a big deal to dl this SP3 right now, but is your call.

    I didn't do a backup.

What would you guys suggest as far as buying Vista.....buy a disc with or without SP1? I know the earlier version can be updated, but maybe the oem updated version is cleaner??

Get the disc with it already integrated. That's what I did with Vista and XP.

    Both are running fine atm.

I`d suggest getting the one most up to date from the supplier. Less hassle in the future.

File Transfer speeds are now way higher... that's the most major improvement... so much so, that it's considered a bug fix :)
