I was tinkering with a pair of IBM Thinkpad T20s, and swapped the hard drive from one into the other. Office XP is now saying that there have been hardware changes and thus needs to be reactivated. It seems to be asking for a network location to reactivate the thing. I'm not quite sure what it's looking for or why it's doing this. The two machines are identical, so I don't see why it thinks it's a huge hardware change. Is there any solution to this issue?

Well if you have the activation/serial number, you can always re-activate Office...

It's not even getting to the point of asking me for a code, it just keeps trying to connect to some network resource that doesn't exist.

Try reinstalling Office XP or buying another copy. There has been a hardware change because it's a different laptop. Your version of Office XP might only be good for one computer only.
