I have the same problem as in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...naptics-driver-doesnt-recognize-touchpad.html So, i reinstalled windows, and the scrolling, zooming etc. won't work, before reinstall all worked fine.

Driver version is 15.3.41.5. Drivers should detect the touchpad as "Synaptics TouchPad V7.5 PS/2 Port", but now it is "PS/2 compatible mouse" Computer is Packard bell easynote te11hc. Tried reinstalling drivers and downloaded correct drivers from packardbell.com I need help :D
(Before reinstalling OS was windows 7 home premium 64bit, now it is win 7 ultimate 64bit.)

First off was the driver the right driver for that laptop? You can't always download a latest driver and expect it to work for your hardware if it wasn't made for it. The best driver first to get is from the manufacture site that match your serial model number that will be the right one for your laptop. Downloading a driver from the Synaptic site is good but those are general drivers and not specific to your laptop. For laptop specific driver made you have to go to your laptop manufacture site and input serial or model/make to get the exact driver it uses or was created by the manufacture to run on your laptop. So what is your make/model and have you looked at the laptop site for support to get the right drivers for your O/S and remember Vista drivers will work in Windows 7.

Downloaded right drivers. Typed model number to packardbell.com and downloaded there the driver, tried also downloading from Snypatic site, but both won't make it work.

Second part is a big NO and only of last resort. Get the drivers for the touchpad from packardbell first and install it. I think you need to install the packard driver touchpad and get into its settings and look in there to find your custom settings. So what model of packardbell you have? So we can see and lookup to find whether the drivers located there has such features. Most time the drivers for 7 home should work with 7 Ult without any problems. Only thing I can think of is that touchpad is either failing or bad hardware as that is a name that I don't hear of anymore StateSide here.

Yes, there should be option to diasble/enable zooming, scrolling and other things. My brother has same laptop and I have looked those settings there. Laptop model is Easynote TE11HC.

My settings looks same as in the other thread:

Well if he has the same laptop and yours doesn't work that would mean either the touchpad is bad or the wire ribbon connections is bad. You might have to take apart the laptop and see if the touchpad is still working properly. If all the drivers are correct and is still not working that would mean the touchpad probably isn't functioning properly anymore and you might have to replace it. I did find a site based on the model you gave and the version matches what you posted with. But the driver will load the functions if the touchpad is recognized properly by the software driver. Otherwise you could have a failing touchpad that will need to replaced if that is the case. Forgot is this site close to what your drivers are like?

ok, and if you can't get those same controls I think your device could be faulty then if all is new and the other one is same model and the touchpad works that would mean you need to have it either fix or replaced if that is the case here.

You could try the new driver(16.2.10.12) from Packard Bell: Support Download
EDIT: It's for windows 8 but worth a try it might work.

Then try the Windows 7 driver from the same page, version 15.3.41.5, it's a trial and error method, definitely one of them will work for you.

EDIT: This driver didn't work as per your OP, I missed that, never mind, try any other drivers even if they are for Toshiba laptops, it's a tedious task finding proper driver but Synaptics is much better than other touchpads like Alps or Elan.

So I have the same laptop (Packard Bell EasyNote TE11HC) and the same problem as hanhisorsa. Installed Windows 7 and Synaptics touchpad driver (15.3.41.5) from Packard Bell. No tapping, virtual scrolling, pointer motion and sensitivity options in device properties :(

Interesting thing is that when I tried out my new laptop with Ubuntu LiveCD, virtual scrolling worked without any additional drivers/software.

Edit: Uninstalled Synaptics drivers and installed ELAN Smart-Pad drivers which came with Resource DVD that I have forgotten. Now everything works perfectly. Kudos for confusing users and putting wrong drivers in your own f'ing support page, Packard Bell.

Don't forget that there is a button to switch the TouchPad on or off, on TE11HC it is button F6, on some other Packard Bell models it is button F7.
