I would like to be able to sync files between two folders when I plug my laptop into my external hard drive.

Specifically, my media folders like My Music will sync with my music folder on my external hard drive. So, any new music I download while I'm away from my external will be automatically put on there.

I own Norton Ghost but as far as I know it just creates big backup files that can only be recovered using it. I want a simple exact copy. I don't know if I explained this well.

I use 2BrightSparks's SyncBack, works great to sync my flash drive with a folder on my desktop. Download it here so you don't have to navigate their messy webpage.
