    Hello,
I'm looking at the two ways to sync my Outlook Calender with my Google Apps Calender. Anyone have experience in both?

    1. Use 3rd party program GSyncit one time cost of $20 info, their site

    2. Use the paid version version of Google Apps, $50 per user per year. info

Right now I'm using the free version of Google Apps.

Can you sync it with gmail then sync with outlook ? I know outlook can sync with gmail calendar as gmail now supports activesync(basically gmail is just another exchange server to outlook).

Yes, Exchange Active Sync is available only on the paid version of gmail, $50 per user per year. I'm asking if anyone can compare that experience to using Gsyncit, which is a 3rd party plugin for outlook that syncs calender and contacts with gmail.

Are you sure ? I just did a sync on my android phone treating my gmail account as exchange acount. And as far as I know, people have been doing this since the first day iPhone was out.

    EDIT:
you are right. outlook desktop version doesn't speak activesync. The mobile version on WM/WP7 does.

Android smartphones can sync email, contact, calender, otherstuff with free gmail no problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if iPhone can do it too. Google and Apple were pretty close for a while there, and still are to a certain extent.

As stated in my question, I'm asking about syncing outlook calender with a gmail calender. I list two ways to do it, asking if anyone has experience with both, or either.

Nice to have someone respond to my post though. Nothing worst than no responce at all. hehheh.

I've been using Go Contact Sync Mod to sync my contacts from Outlook 2010 to gmail contacts.

I've been using Google Calendar Sync 0.9.4.1 to sync my calendar in Outlook to my calendar in google.

anseio has given you another option google calendar sync.

What I initially wanted to say though is google has been speaking ActiveSync(which is Microsoft's http friendly protocol for Exchange) for quite a while. It has nothing to do with how cozy they are with Apple(and they are not). Apple iPhone doesn't speak google protocol, it speaks ActiveSync and treat google mail/calendar/contact as Exchange server. So does the android email client(not the gmail specific one but the generic one)

Outlook(the desktop version) itself dosn't speak ActiveSync though.

I used gSyncit and it worked great, while using the both together. and yes, for phones and other mobile devises and stuff (apps that use exchange activesync), google calendar syncs just fine, for free.

I hope for a future outlook version to provide the option to use exchange activesync, too. It is today an interface mature enough to replace all other configurations. It's ridiculous to see a desktop app that is in the end less capable than a mobile app :)

and yes, nothing about google or apple here. google calendar works just fine on windows phone 7, too, for example. it's one of the reasons why google pays microsoft licensing fees, though :)
