    I am looking for some sort of software, that will move all the files from one directory and transfer them to my USB HD.
    Like this:
    c:\My Music\Artist-track.mp3 --------> e:\My Music\Artist-track.mp3
    But i only want it to copy the files that are not currently on the target directory. I also want it to delete the file from the source drive (Drive C in my example) after it is moved. I don't want something that will compress the files into one file, and i would like it if it has the option to sync at shutdown.

    Any software, free or not is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    I can't think of anything like that...I'm curious to see what comes of this.

    yea, i have been looking all over the place. I am thinking of making a program myself in VB.

    I tried using the MS backup program, but it gives you a backup file. There's gotta be an app like that out there somewhere!

    Allway Sync is pretty good. I'm not sure if it is exactly what you need, but it works pretty good. I just downloaded it to try it out a bit ago and it seems like a good piece of software.

    It can do automatic syncs based on certain time increments, when files are changed, when removable storage devices are present, or on certain days. It's got lots of options. You can set it to sync at start up, logon, or when it's idle (in addition to days of the week, times of the day, etc) but I don't see an "at shutdown" option. :confused:

    I think it only changes files that are altered (or, in this case, added to the folder), but I'm not totally sure. I've only been testing it out for a few minutes. I haven't figured out if/how to make it delete the original files in the source path, but you could always do that manually.

    It's worth checking out, unless someone knows of a program that does exactly what you want.

    I tried out FolderMatch. It's not a bad program. It may do more of what you want it to. I didn't mess around with it very much, but it looks like it will do what you need it to.

    Have you tried Windows built in syncher? It is called 'Briefcase'. You might also be able to do it using The Godfather. Godfather seems able to do almost everything else MP3. You can also use Explorer's Move command, when it finds a duplicate hold the Shift key down when you select 'No' (it chooses 'No to All')
