    is there a program that allows you to synchronise folder on an external hard drive with one on my pc easily?

    Yes, use Microsoft SyncToy.... its free and easy to use.

    and you can even set it to do scheduled syncing through Scheduled Tasks.

    Or Robocopy, if you want more flexibility and know how to write batch files.

    Try SyncBack Freeware V3.2.18.0 (scroll down, it's after the paid version), the free version will allow you to synch a folder with a single click. If you do not need a 'smart' check to decide between files modified both on source and destination, it's fine. I use it to sync my desktop and my laptop via a usb stick.

    I've been looking for something like this, tried SyncToy today and it is exactly what I was looking for, and very easy to use also.
