The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Syncplicity - an alternative to Dropbox for file sync

    Somebody I know uses both Syncplicity and Dropbox he was in both beta programs and sent me an invite to be in both betas.

    I never looked into it, but since I am right now transferring some files onto my external HDD to put on my desktop I think its a good time :D

    I saw the thread about Dropbox so thought I would share news about this program as well.

    Premier File Management Software | Cloud-based Backup &amp Synchronization | Syncplicity

    Both offer free accounts for 2GB so if you install both thats 4GB of free sync.


    Like I said I have not used either of them (yet) but it seems to be that Syncplicity has a bit more features and is more robust.

    I agree on that.

    I've used Dropbox before, and more recently Syncplicity and I've preferred the latter..
