Hi folks,
My Gateway M-6862 has Vista Home Premium 64-bit on it. I don't recall "Disabling" the Administrator Account (which would be lil ol me).
But when I do F8 and go into "System Recovery Option" window ... the pop up winodw comes up with Administrator and asks me for the Password ... I enter it and I get the following alarm/alert ...
"Your account has been diabled. Please see your System Administrator".
So from the drop down button I then choose my Main Admin under my name and viola that works!
Q1: Is it possible that I have in-advertantly deleted or disabled the Original "Administrator Account"?
Q2: If so, is there a problem with that?
Q3: How to create it again? I suppose New Clean Re-install!?!?!
Thanks,

The administrator account is disabled by default in all Vista installations. (The Gateway website notes this in steps for restoring your system: http://support.gateway.com/s/Checklists/BPC/ck20070813111.shtml.) Right click on My Computer, select manage, go to Local Users and Groups, go to the Users folder, right click on Administrator, select properties, and untick Account is disabled.
You don't actually use the Administrator account - you are just a user that has administrative rights. -
Hi kegobeer,
