How do I define how much disk space System Restore is allowed to use in Vista? In XP it was simply: My Computer > Properties > System Restore > Settings, then you could use the slider bar to set how much space you would allow SR to use. I don't want SR to eat up too much of my HD on my new computer, so I want to make sure it is set for a reasonable value. But I can't find anything like this in Vista. Any help?
Thanks,
Mac

If you have Vista Ultimate, consider this...
1. Use CompletePCBackup and Backup your entire system to DVD;
2. Consider a Clean install since you are concerned about gaining as much space back as possible. This will, not only eliminate bloatware, but also eliminate the tons of registry entries and functions utilized by Dell which slow your system. The Clean Install thread is below; and
3. Regardless as to whether you do the clean install, read through my 'Vista Tweaks' Thread below and consider many of the tweaks. Amongst those is one that allows you to consider turning system restore off as you have backed it up and may do so regularly as I.
System Restore is a significant reason systems run slowly. It works in the background each and every time you make any change to your system, at regular intervals. and also, when u turn the system on. -
