System Restore creates restore points, and I can create restore points, but if I try to restore I get the message that it can not restore to that point, try another restore point. But none of them work - always the same message. Is there any way to repair System Restore (short of a complete re-install of AP)?

    XP sp2 Media Center edition.

. tried create and restore in safemode?
. if it works, try again in normal mode
. check ur AV, sometimes conflicts can happen, blocking the restore process

    cheers ...

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Doesn't work in Safemode either, it just hangs in Safemode.
I haven't tried turning off the AV (Avast) and will, but I"ve been using is for quite some time and have never had any problem.

Turning off Avast didn't work, but I was able to restore using Safemode (this time any way).
The address you give is for ME, do you think it ok to try it with XP; and I can create Restore points.

Found that SuperAntiSpyware has a repair System Restore. I gave it a try and it worked. Now problem now (so far) with System Restore.
