    Hello all,
I have a weird problem in that when I'm playing music on itunes, the song will skip around and lag really bad if I'm loading a webpage. This seems to happen during any kind of webpage related activity, whether I'm using firefox or IE. If i'm loading a youtube video the music will skip around until the video is done loading, and will not skip once the video has fully loaded.

My computer is a gateway m-6850fx with a t8300 cpu. This computer is no slouch, so I'm wondering why it is having this problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

How much ram do you have?
iTunes is a resource hog and if you are doing intensive browsing, low ram could be the cause.

I'd actually go with software interference.

Whenever I run CPU-Z it interfers with my audio playback.

Whenever I run ICQ6 it seems to cause some dead pixles in the top left corner... close the program, gone.

I used to have this problem with Windows Media Player, though not as bad. I have since done a clean install (do to other problems arising), and it hasn't happened since.

Im running Itunes version 8.0.2.20 and my computer has 3gb of ram. Another sidenote is that sometimes it runs perfectly, and other times it acts up really bad. But it seems to run more on the side of having the problem then running perfectly.

Most likely is it's happening when your internet connection is slow, either because of congestion on your ISP's system, or on your own router; because communicating with the NIC will monopolize the FSB, anything else that has to move across the FSB gets blocked while the NIC is being accessed - if the NIC itself is slow to respond because of congestion on the network, that will show up as delays in other things, like streaming media, that need to run data across the FSB constantly.

One thing you might check is the QoS setting on your router - if basic websurfing has low priority, then it's possible that that's adding delays to the overall network, which could be affecting your music.
