I have my OS, programs, etc on C:\XP and My Documents on D:\Data.
I back up my C drive to a Seagate external using Seagate DiscWizard and D drive to a WD external using Karen's Replicator, I keep system restore enabled in case I need a quick fix.
Are there any advantages keeping system restore enabled on D drive?

To be honest, no and this was acknowledged by the elevated tech support personnel from M$ Vista Support to me, long back when I had some issues with system restore... But I anyway just keep it enabled, but reduced the size down to just above the min 15% needed.
In fact, others (including experts) have seriously said there is no 'real' use of this system restore thing anyways, particularly when backing up the system or the C: drive.. Which I do as well... Because there was something like, this system restore thing making restore point' only for certain essential system files and not the whole C: or something like that, like not your data or stuff.....
In fact, I do a complete PC Backup (both C: and D.... For now though, I just have it (C
enabled like you, but with a reduced size.. it was ~45 GB or something before, now I keep it at 30 GB, and I still have lots of space in my HDD.. so probably once it gets filled up I would reduce it even further.

Thanks all. I disabled SR to D. Keeping it enabled on C if I need a quick fix.
