    Hey guys,

I've been trying to look for solution for my problem. It appears my DVD-RW device is quite problematic I would say, Nero InfoTool says it's only supporting max 4X read speed and nothing more - write speed it good and is 24X. The device is TSST TS-L633A with SC05 firmware (the newest one).

I head the problem may lie with DMA support, but InfoTool says it's already running with UDMA5 mode, so it's full speed. It's really annoying, because when I install anything from CD it takes REALLY MUCH TIME to do it.

    Any help?

did you check device manager to see if the controller it is on is actually running in DMA mode?

I installed Magic Speed program from samsungodd.com website and set it for High Speed mode and now it works fine. Strange for me, because they usually put CD drives on full speed, but this TSST is an exception.
