Hey I'm looking for a software that lets you take a picture of something such as one's face for 3 months. I need a software which can realign the picture with the previous one.
Like I'm pretty sure you guys have seen videos on youtube where someone takes a picture of themselves for years. You can see that their facial features are perfectly aligned, so you can really see the change.
Me and my friends are doing an experiment with food, where we leave food out, and see how long it takes to rot. The food will be moved around, so We need some kind of software that we can use to align it perfectly based on the previous picture.
I have tried looking for an image viewer which has opacity reduction option, and which also has an option to always stay on top. So I would place the original picture with it's opacity at say 30% and place my webcam software behind it, so I can see where I need to move the food to perfectly align the picture with the previous one.
I don't know the exact terms for this process and I hope I worded it somewhat alright, so you guys can understand what I', trying to get at.
any help would be appreciated
thanks

I doubt there's any software that's dedicated to what you're asking for. A camera, time exposures, photoshop and a slideshow program would do what you're looking for.

I believe what you would do with food is use a tripod and possibly dektop linked to a video or static camera taking pics at regular intervals.
(You can take a video and then fast foreward it at 20 or even 100 times)
If you want to allign pictures - it is defintiely possible, that's how the panorama feature in Photoshop works.
(on parts of it obviously, you want a panorama)
But I wouldn't know if software could align pictures to form a sort of "stack" that you can "flip through". -
try www.flickaday.com
editops you probably werent looking for this kind of thing i just kinda read the title xD
