    I can't explain this properly, I've tried before but either nobody seems to understand or it just doesn't happen to anybody else.

    width='560' height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/elAsuh3Qwk8?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/elAsuh3Qwk8?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='560' height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    Surely someone out there has had this happen? Am I just going crazy? Is there a fix for this, I've had quite enough of it :confused:

    Never had this happen to me. Have you tried with aero turned off, just to see if it is a graphics display problem or something more profound?

    The flashing orange may indicate that the program is not responding.

    Remove all the taskbar icons and add them back one by one?

    Those programs run fine from start menu, desktop etc.?

    Well this is worse than me with the flickering Window Previews that will flicker onscreen each and every pixel you move across an icon s:

    Nope! They will flash even if launched from elsewhere, and it isn't just the programs pinned on the taskbar. Perfect example, Vegas isn't pinned, I opened it via start to render that video... flashed at me the whole way.

    Aero or not, it does the same thing... I know this because I set BFBC2 to make windows go to 'basic' mode to free up all possible resources, and it still does this - actually what happens is worse, I launch BFBC2 and instead of opening in fullscreen, it launches behind the steam window :s

    atb, all the programs seem to respond once I'm able to actually switch to them. I've also tried to kill and re-open explorer via task manager, no luck.

    Only thing that makes this go away is a reboot and even that seems like 50/50 once it gets going. It will behave for weeks at a time then all of a sudden bam, it annoys me for a couple days/reboots in a row.
