Right click on your taskbar and make sure there is not a check mark next to "Lock the Taskbar". Then put your mouse cursor over the top edge of it until you see a double arrow cursor and drag down. If that doesn't work, then right click your taskbar, move it to "toolbars" and then uncheck quick launch. Then drag the top edge down.

Yeah, that still doesn't solve my problems. I already have Quick Launch unchecked. I can't seem to be able to move the taskbar down to a single line. If any part of it goes, it all goes. I accidentally pulled it up and now it's stuck.

try moving it to the side of the screen. Make sure its unlocked, then drag a clear area of the bar to the side. Resize it there and then bring it back to the bottom

Im sorry if im this offends you, but this is the noobiest thread ive ever read, i hope there really is a problem and not what i think.

When you put your mouse cursor over the top edge, does it change to a double arrow?

Yeah, this is a pretty nooby question to ask and I wouldn't have resolved to making a thread for it if I could have corrected it. Yes, when I put the mouse cursor over the top edge, it does turn into a double arrow pointing both ways.

I managed to get it singled space but as you can see, theres an area that seems to be where the Quick Launch buttons would be. How would I close or collapse that area?

Okay! Problem fixed. Sorry for such the noob thread. I had no idea how to fix it. I just moved it around and I got it into a singled line. Just hid the taskbar completely and restarted through the taskmanager. Once windows booted up, it went back to normal. Hope if anyone aciddently stumble across the same problem as me next time, they'll know how to quickly change it.

There was nothing wrong with your asking how to fix that at all. That is why the forum is here. Some people seem to forget that.
