So I was just wondering what everyones temps were like in Windows 7.

Im running it on a macbook and get temps around -75c when running an intensive game like Farcry2 or Stalker clear sky.

    Idle temps around 40-50c

    :p

Isn't this sort of pointless? And also what are you talking about? CPU, GPU, HDD?

My CPU temps never go above 65*C during intensive activity and it hovers around 30*C during idle. All of which are the same as Vista and XP. This is on a Clevo M860TU without a cooler, with a cooler the temps drop around 5*C.

But this has nothing to do with Win7, it has to do with the cooling system of the laptop.

    Hmm that is quite strange.

Perhaps it is pointless, but I suppose everything is pointless in this world.

I am speaking of the overall system. The cpu will not get much higher/lower than the gpu of course. And the hdd temp is something I really dont even care about because I use an external 90% of the time.

I really dont know the temps of vista or xp, but when I run OSX the temps seem to drop a little.

This is why I considered that OS's had some factor with temps..

I am also having upped temps with Windows 7, by 5C or so, although I was already having high heats as I haven't cleaned my vents in a while :/

CPU idles 48-50, web browsing up to 50-52, w/ Itunes up to 60. Stress tests with orthos brought me to 72, but somehow watching videos on Hulu is more intense than orthos and got me up to 78.

And I'm underclocked as low as possible.

From W7 beta to W7 RC, my chipset temps have sky rocketed like 10, it idles at ~60, is that normal? CPU seems to jump quicker up. Laptop gets hot even idle and closed.

Dude, don't worry about the temps that much. For W7, Vista, and XP, my temps are at constant 90 C, doesn't really matter to me anymore. I can't cool it down that much, LOL. I even got like 2 fans blowing at it. Room Temp is 23 C, but my laptop doesn't feel hot at all. I get my readings from RMClock and HWMonitor.

P.S. I dealt with this for 2 years. It just likes the 90C mark.

Edit - Yes, I am underclocked and undervolted.
