This is for those of you who haven't tried Vista and would like to experience it for free on your desktop with downloading anything. I'm not sure if this has already been posted somewhere but if you go to Windows home page and scroll to the bottom of the page you can test drive Windows Vista Business. When you click on the link they will ask you for your email address (you dont have to register for anything) to log on. Once your logged onto Vista, two windows will appear on the desktop. Click on "test drive" inside the big window to the right and that will open up a separate window with a mini desktop version of Vista. From here you can mess around a bit and personalise the appearance of Windows, test out Office 2007, play games, and check other things out to get the gist of Vista. Have fun!

Thanks for the tip, I wasn't aware of that. May have to try it out.

Very cool...I'd like to do the 3-D Window flipping in it, but for some reason I can't. I've been really wanting to try that feature out..too bad.

I wonder if Linux has a interactive demo like Vista, so anyone whos interested can test drive Linux before installing it.

The majority of Linux distributions have what's called a LiveCD. You download and burn the LiveCD, boot your computer from it, and watch Linux load. It doesn't install anything on your machine, the OS and all included applications run from the CD. It's slower than a harddrive install, of course, but should you like Linux, there is usually an icon on the desktop to install the OS on your harddrive.
Linux' methods of distibuting demos is lightyears ahead of any other OS.
Test drive Windows Vista Business Edition without D/ling it
