I really like the Macbook Air, its slick, fits my requirements for a laptop and I am reaching a point where I might be able to afford it. Also, did I mention that its slick?

Anyways, I dislike OSX...not because its a bad OS, but because its not Windows (yes, I like Windows). The reason I don't want the Air is because I've heard of a lot of driver issues with Vista and the fact that the keyboard falls short a couple keys. But if the Adamo turns out to be a flop, I might have to get the Air...which brings me to my question.

How well does W7 work with the Air? Does the backlight adjust to ambient lighting? What about the backlit keyboard? Is there a usable right-click workaround?

Save yourself the agony and wait for the Dell Adamo. It's an all aluminum notebook to compete directly with the Macbook Air. The Adamo just looks sick. I can't wait for it's release and the rumor is it's supposed to be priced lower than the Macbook Air.

may i suggest the hp tablet line? 2710p or 2730p are both very pretty, have much more wow-factor due the turnable screen (and if you have the daylight screen, it's more gorgeous than anything you can ever get), is smaller and thus more handy than the macbook air (but thicker). and you can get them quite cheap (up to hella-expensive :))

    it's silver :)

I'm very disappointed with the specs and price of the Adamo. The MBA is the better choice at this time.

Sad Day...with that price I can nab the Macbook which is only slightly heavier.

Thin isn't really that helpful if they make it frikin heavier, more expensive and underpowered than their competition.

I had made the same comment on another thread. If you're now leaning on a MacBook, I would wait as it's in mid life cycle according to macrumors.com so a refresh should be out in another 2-3 months time. I'm actually considering getting one myself after the next refresh.

    LMAO

Have you heard about the pricing for the Adamo? I'm no Apple fanboy (Love my Windows OS...yes even Vista) but the Adamo is a joke when it comes to value.

Sorry but I'd get a MacBook Air anyday of the week over the Adamo. You're looking at $1,999 for the simplest Adamo!

And it's not even on par with the specs for the current MBA. Dell must be on some type of crack if they actually think most people will buy that well designed and great looking but hugely overpriced laptop they're calling "Adamo".

Dell must not understand that we're in a recession right now.

    Welcome to yesterday. ;)

I guess you missed my earlier post in this thread where I had discussed that.

Lol yeah I read that and I was like...OMFG.

But yeah I was hoping the Adamo would be a nice thing even though I'm more of an HP guy.

However I've been reading Engadget all day today and that's how I found out about the price.

How much is sony charging for the Vaio P? I mean I consider sony to be the worst when it comes to prices and quality but Dell really just took the cake with this one....

Yeah I was surprised by the specs and shocked by the price. I was planning on getting one but not now. I think the MacBook and MBA are a much better value. I've owned Macs before but have little interest in them know. I'll wait to see what kind of Dell deals are out there when Windows 7 launches. :D
