Depends on where you got it from.

    Where did you get it?

There must be ways of finding out. Most demos have a time limit on. When you start up a demo program, a window comes up showing how many days of the demo are left remaining. The program also might be called "Nero Demo" instead of "Nero" and some of the more advanced features of Nero may be disabled. But the obvious way to tell is where you got it from. If you payed for and bought the program then it's not a demo.

Also, I don't see the relavence of the name of the thread to this question....

Then you have the demo version. If you want the full version, you have to download it from Nero's site and pay the 80 bucks for it.

In "burning rom " help> about. If it is a registered version then it will show YOUR registration information.

Anyway if this is a full version then you must have at some point entered your info and a serial number that was provided by nero or some other online vendor, otherwise you are using it as a demo.

From the start menu, goto the nero directory, there you can launch "Nero burning Rom". What you are looking at the "smart start" Sorry I cannot point you how to get it from there (i am sure you can) becuase I have smart start disabled. I just use burning rom and express (the basic programs that were there ever since version 5, I refuse to change) :p I am actually still on version 6

Lets see BugetKid asked about bittorrent and what version of Nero he has on the same day. Coincidence? I think not. My hunch is that you downloaded Nero with a bittorent (PM me to let me know if I am right). Since this site doesn't support illegal file downloading he is in a bind. Don't tell us how you got it(at least don't post it). This is fine, but you probably just got the demo version that is for free off Nero's site. All I will say is try again. lol
    Tim
PS. I am not trying to get you into trouble. Just pointing out the obvious.

LOL, don't worry Tim. You aren't getting anyone in trouble.

Budget supposedly knows the rules, so he should know better than to post those types of questions.

BTW, just for those of us who think they can cheat Nero out of their money -- Nero does track those keys on bit torrent and other illegal sites. It is like MS - you enter a crack key, and the software becomes non-functional.

You might as well pay the 20 bucks and get Nero legally.

Since I am not using version 7 at the moment I am going to have to guess from when I tried the demo. In the start menu directory for nero, there is a product setup, I think you can add/remove options from there. I hated the scout thing and removed that since it is always on and taking resources.

And having multiple link to burining rom and express is normal. They all point to the same software, no idea why nero does that!

Well if it came with your laptop it is probably the full version. I was not trying to accuse you of anything. I don't care where you get your programs ;). Maybe it's just me I am talking about.

That's why i was asking where you got it from, Budget. If you want us to help you, you need to give us details. Only giving us half of the story isn't helping anyone, and waisting our time when we could be helping others..

If you get Nero with your laptop, then you've got an OEM version of it. It will have some features as the complete full version, but it won't have all of the features.

I think it is on your yahoo toolbar because Nero and yahoo have partner up. If you download anything from Nero's site, you get the yahoo toolbar unless you uncheck it.

Whew, good thing I didn't install my "version" of nero. Sonic is good enough for me. I will be a good boy from now on. I promise.

My demo (I own 6 but decided to try 7 for 30 days to see if I wanted to pony up 50 bucks for it) tells me it's a demo every time I start it.

Now pay the million bucks to my paypal acct. I'll even buy you a copy of Nero :D

You can buy Nero fairly cheap, and yes, it is a legal version.

Buy.com has coupons all the time for Nero. There is also downloadable OEM versions where you pay 20 dollars for (which is what i got). You just have to search to find the right price.
